Llandow Air Disaster Memorial Match

There's a very special match taking place at Newbridge RFC this Friday 13th of March. A team containing players from Llanharan RFC, Abercarn RFC and Risca RFC will play a Monmouthshire County XV to commemorate 70 years since supporters from all 3 clubs lost their lives when their plane, returning home from the Ireland v Wales International, crashed near Llandow. All the players will receive a special Match Jersey to remember the occasion and have already attended a training session led by Greg Woods, who now coaches Ebbw Vale but is an ex Abercarn player. The honour of representing Llanharan in this game goes to Louis Stansbury, Owain Howe, Sam Grant, Brandon Nelson, Chris Osborne and veteran Paul Winters. Although the match will be played in Newbridge the presentations etc after the match will take place at Abercarn RFC. Kick off 7.15.

Llanharan RFC would like to thank Abercarn and Risca rugby clubs for all their hard work in arranging this match.
