The word " Legend" is thrown around in sport these days far to easily. Llanharan RFC however have a "living legend" in the village, who played more than 500 games for the club- Cyril Jones. Cyril, for those who do not know him, played outside half for the club in the 60's 70's and 80's, rarely missing a game. I was fortunate enough to have played alongside him in some of those games. He organized the back division and set up many chances for those outside him. He could kick out of hand and goal kick. Opposition teams always feared him and some would try to put him off his game, but it never worked. He had some games for Bridgend but his heart was always in Llanharan RFC. Cyril has reached his 75th. birthday and looks the same weight as he did all those years ago ( something some of us can only dream about!) Happy 75th birthday Cyril from everyone at Llanharan RFC.
