Llanharan 5 Barry 44

For two thirds of this game Llanharan went toe to toe with a Barry side riding high in the league. Both sides decided that running rugby was the name of the game but the away sides greater pace was the deciding factor. Barry playing up the hill took the lead with an early penalty. However Llanharan hit back with an excellent try, which came from inter passing by backs and forwards and ended with full back Lee Davies diving over in the corner. Barry fought back after pressure on the Llanharan line to score 2 tries of their own, both of which were converted. Half Time Llanharan 5 Barry 17. The home side started the second half with some great inter passing and were unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions. At this point Llanharan had decided to run everything but were caught out when Barry kicked through after a dropped pass to score. With their speed of pass and pace Barry proceeded to kill the game off with 3 further tries. 2 yellow cards didn't help Llanharan in this game but once again the effort from the players cannot be praised enough, it also gave us a glimmer of hope for next season. With the addition of 3 or 4 players and some boys coming out of the youth team, we can hopefully steady the ship and look forward to a brighter future. If tonight's game is any thing to go by we will certainly see entertaining rugby under Head Coach Gareth Nicholas next season. Special mention must go to Kevin Jones and Clinton Davis, who have made sure we have fielded a side for every game this season under very difficult circumstances.
