Llantwit Fardre RFC 0 Llanharan RFC 40

With a strong wind behind us we kicked off and almost immediately scored when Jack Walker ran on to the ball from the kick off and set up a ruck, with quick hands resulting in a try for wing Jack Pring. The next try came from a Ryan Russell break in mid field, which ended with Mitch Jones scoring the try and Scott Jones converting. Llanharan's forwards then gained 50 yards with a maul that ended with Jack Thomson finishing off a superb forwards try. Scott Jones kicked the conversion to make the score 19-0 to Llanharan. The Llantwit centres always looked dangerous and Llanharan had to make sure their defence was good. The last try before half time came from a Ryan Russell break that ended with Jack Walker scoring. Scott Jones converted.

Half Time Score: Llantwit Fardre RFC 0 Llanharan RFC 26

The second half started with Llanharan playing in to the strong wind but once again good handling from the kick off led to Ryan Russell scoring and Scott Jones converting. Llantwit came back in to the game now but Llanharan's defence was solid. Mitch Jones scored and converted the last try after a long pass from Lewis Cogbill. There should have been another try scored as Ryan Russell was hurtling down the touch line with the line at his mercy, only to pull up sharply with what looked like a leg muscle injury. We all hope he will be fit for next Saturday and also Jack Walker, who came off with a neck injury. Both players were outstanding today. Special mention also to Travis Green, who came up against a big, tough prop in Joe Popple but managed to stay in the contest with his more experienced opponent. Llanharan probably left a few tries out on the field by not doing the simple things on occasions but we still had a bonus point win.

Final Score: Llantwit Fardre RFC 0 Llanharan RFC 40

It was a good day for the Club with Spaniels beating Bryncoch RFC 51-34.
