Meet the New Captain.

Our new captain for the 2025/26 season, is barnstorming Number Eight Ieuan Pring. Despite being only 24 years old, Ieuan is always one of the first names on the team sheet and brings with him a wealth of quality rugby and captaincy experience.

Ieuan’s rugby journey started with Ysgol Gynradd Y Dolau and Llanharan RFC Mini Section. His undoubted talents were quickly noticed, and he progressed to Pontypridd RFC junior sections and the Pontypridd Schools District setup. In 2012 he gained representative honours for East Wales under 11’s and captained the ‘B’ team.

On leaving Ysgol Gynradd Y Dolau, Ieuan attended Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari, like many Llanharan stalwarts over the years. He completed his sixth form education at the rugby hotbed, which is Coleg Y Cymoedd, whom he captained to victory in the 2019 WRU School and Colleges Cup.

Ieuan also played age group rugby for the Cardiff Blues region, on occasion captaining the under 18’s side. During this time, he was also invited to attend a Wales Under 18’s training camp.

Ieuan’s next stop was Cardiff Met University, where he gained Super Bucs experience.

Having left University, Ieuan returned home to the Dairy Field, where he has plied his trade in spectacular fashion over the last four seasons. One of the team’s most consistent performers; who can forget his player of the match performance for us in the Principality Stadium as the Seagulls were put to the sword in April 2024, or his epic performance as a stand in scrum half, during that same Invincibles season?

Ieuan has proved himself a more than capable deputy for Scott Jones over the last couple of seasons. We all wish him the very best of success, as he takes on the substantive role of captain, in Bill Carey’s new-look Dairymen.
