First game of the season for our milkmen and we welcomed Pontyclun 2s to the welfare field. It was the second game played on the welfare field that day and we would like to say that it held up well with the weather we have had.

The game was a typical derby game with intensity and nerves from both sides. Pontyclun took an early lead by taking their chance with a quick try. The milkmen couldn't capitalise having the wind behind them and did well to keep the score to 6-15 at the half.

2nd half the milkmen against the wind made up for the 1st half mistakes by scoring 3 tries (2 Lloyd Roberts, 1 Evan Halse) with no reply. Then Pontyclun made a good breakaway try and converted it to make the score 21-22, with 10 minutes to go. The final 10 was an intense affair and the milkmen got their try and Lloyd Roberts hat trick after a lot of pressure on their line.

The game finished the way no one wanted it to, with an injury. Thankfully Lloyd is ok and we would like to thank everyone involved in helping him.

We look forward to our next encounter with Pontyclun on boxing day on the dairy. ⚫🔵⚫🔵🏉
