Llanharan 17 Tylorstown 22

Llanharan playing down the slope in the first half scored after only a few minutes play, when outside half Roy Furnival put a kick through for wing Jack Pring to chase and score. Tylorstown levelled the score a few minutes later when good passing enabled their No. 6 to score. Jack Pring then made a try saving tackle in the corner which stopped a certain Tylorstown score. Shortly after Llanharan were dealt a blow when full back Tom Preece went off injured to be replaced by young Youth product Alex Newbold. The next score was Tylorstown after poor tackling by Llanharan let them in for a converted try. Half time score Llanharan 5 Tylorstown 12. From the kick off Llanharan scored one of the best individual tries seen at the Dairyfield. Jack Pring caught the ball inside his own half and proceeded to beat defender after defender, showing his Rugby League skills in being able to bounce and spin out of tackles to touchdown for a memorable try. Llanharan scored again after a neat kick through by Mike Wallis enabled Roy Furnival to score a try which he converted with the only successful kick of the day for Llanharan. The Tylorstown scrum was now starting to put pressure on the Llanharan eight and it was no surprise when they scored from a scrum five to make the score 17-17. After more pressure from Tylorstown, the winning try came from a driving maul after a line out in the Llanharan 22. The home team had a final chance to level the score with a line out on Tylorstown 5 metre line but the lineout was lost and with it went any chance of levelling the score. Final Score Llanharan 17 Tylorstown 22.

This was overall a good performance from a Llanharan team missing several front line players. It was a gutsy performance that showed who ever put the shirt was always going to give 100%.
