Beddau 2009

BEDDAU 11/04/09 -

SWALEC ONE EAST

Apr 11th 2009 - LLANHARAN 41 BEDDAU 18 (HT 24-15)

We avenged our defeat at Beddau three weeks earlier with an emphatic five tries bonus point victory at a sunny Dairyfield.

The win edged Gareth Edwards' men into third in the table, our highest placing since dropping out of the premiership in 2005, whilst despite defeat, Beddau’s status seemed assured as results at the bottom continued to go in their favour.

Dai Atkins ended the proceedings with a conversion and concluded a happy afternoon for our coach Dennis John who would again be in charge in 2009-2010 for his eighth season. Colin Malone was to remain as forwards coach, but the touchline team would be boosted by the recruitment of former UWIC and Pontypridd back row man Mathew Lloyd who had been coaching Caerphilly.

Llanharan: Arwel.Davies (Gareth.W.Jones76), Dorien Thomas, Dai Atkins, Lee Thorne, Lloyd Thomas, Ross Pearce, Craig Burton (Gareth Spain 28), Adrian Ford, Nathan Huish (Tom Worgan 65), Gareth Edwards (Capt.), Gareth Casey (Ed Rees 70), Lee Davies, Justin Jones, Jon Myatt (Nikki Allen 67) Aled Llewellyn.

Llanharan tries – D.Atkins, L.Thomas, N.Huish, L.Davies, J. Jones. Cons 4 and pens 2 – R.Pearce. Con – D.Atkins.

Beddau tries – Steve Robinson, Dan Deardon. Con and pen 2 – Robinson.
