Llanharan 26 Saracens 0 (HT 8-0)

Llanharan dominated this game against bottom side Newport Saracens, but we failed badly to translate our superiority into an appropriate score line.

The Sarries arrived in some disarray, their coaches having resigned after five successive defeats and the club unable to name a side until twenty-four hours before the match.

They knew they were up against it against third placed Llanharan, but with rugby legend Bobby Windsor installed as team manager and the experienced Mathew Back drafted into the coaching set up they went onto the field with the sole aim of avoiding humiliation.

And this they did despite not enjoying the luxury of ball in hand inside the home team twenty-two until the final quarter.

Our side enjoyed a glut of possession, but all too often found ourselves in trouble at the contact area and when the ball did move out we seemed to have minds focussed on the next move instead of getting the basics right.

Llanharan tries – Lee Thorne 2, Justin Jones. Pens 3 and con – Gethin Worgan.
