Maesteg's/ Llanharan Connection

This photo, taken from the South Wales Echo, was kindly sent to us by Bethan Thomas. It shows the Maesteg team that won the old Whitbread Merit Table back in 1978/79. They were the top side in Wales then, sadly times have changed and like a lot of clubs they are struggling to survive. There are 3 Llanharan players in the team, Steve Brown, Colin Donovan and the one and only John Morgan who is captain. In those days Maesteg used a lot of players from Llanharan, either transferring or playing on permit.
